SMM April 29 News:

With the Labour Day holiday approaching, SMM communicated with galvanized sheet enterprises to understand their holiday arrangements. This sample of galvanized sheet enterprises consists of 20 companies, with a total capacity of 19.22 million mt/year, affecting zinc consumption by 274 mt. According to the findings, only one sample enterprise chose to halt production during the Labour Day holiday, while the vast majority of galvanized sheet factories in the industry operated normally during the holiday. In terms of orders, April is the peak season for galvanized sheet orders. Recently, domestic trade orders have remained at a seasonal high, and domestic galvanized sheet factories are still producing some "rush export" orders received earlier, maintaining an overall high level of operation. However, with the implementation of China-US tariffs and strict domestic investigations into export orders, some enterprises have reported a certain pull back in export orders after May, and the market has strong concerns about future orders. Regarding raw material stocking, the market will be closed for 5 days during the Labour Day holiday. Galvanized sheet factories have basically completed their raw material purchases, with some enterprises' raw materials arriving during the holiday. Overall, enterprises have completed their raw material stocking for the holiday period.
